Five simple steps to e-verify your income tax return using HDFC netbanking

64

The process of filing your income tax has become relatively easy and straightforward. After efiling, an individual can verify his returns in two ways

1) He/She can send the single page IVR-V to CPC, Bangalore within 120 days from efiling.

or

2) She/He can generate electronic verification code using Income tax website or with your net banking account

Follow the below 5 simple steps to eVerify your returns using your HDFC Netbanking account (you don’t need to sent the ITR-V to Income tax department)

These are the five simple steps to eVerify your IT Returns in HDFC netbanking

Step 1: Login to your HDFC Netbanking account and locate the “Accounts” tab and look for an option “Income Tax eFiling” under “Request” in the left side menu.

HDFC IT efiling

Step 2: Once you select your account Number, click continue to proceed and this will redirect into Income Tax Department website dashboard directly where you need to select the “View Returns/ Forms” option (Screenshot below).

Income tax website dashboard

Step 3Select the option “Click here to view your returns pending for e-verification”

IT returns verify

Step 4Select the option “e-verify” on the right side

Everify IT returns

Step 5Once you clicked e-verify, a pop-up window will appears. You need click “Continue” to generate EVC and to get your income tax return verified. Finally you get a confirmation message with transaction ID and EVC code

everify confirmation

That’s it. You are done with your efiling verification. Now your return is eVerified and you do not need to send the ITR-V to CPC in Bangalore anymore.

If you have any doubts regarding Income tax everification, kindly leave as comments. We would try our level best to address those.

When I press Continue on net banking, so its not getting me on Efiling website

    Please suggest

    1. Mohammad Ali says

There might be mismatch between your PAN and Aadhaar details.
I would advise you to try other e-verify option for this year – http://onerupee.net/various-ways-to-e-verify-your-income-tax-return/.
Still if you are not able to e-verify, you have the option to send physical ITR-V.

I hope this will clear up your question sufficiently

After clicking on e-verify link…Its not showing the popup for continue…Pop up blocker is off…so it should appear…it gives me 3 options to create the EVC…that also not working. Please help

    1. Mohammad Ali says

Hello Shrikant, there might be some mismatch between your PAN and your Bank account details. Hence I would suggest your to try Aadhaar based Tax everify option.

  9. Benedict says

I am unable to E-Verify through HDFC Bank. It takes me to the Income Tax portal. But I am getting a message in the E verification – YOUR NOT AUTHORIZED TO VIEW THIS PAGE..BECAUSE EITHER YOUR BANK DETAILS OR YOUR PAN DETAILS AND PROFILE DETAILS ARE INCORRECT.
But all my details are correct only. Why is this?

    1. Mohammad Ali says

Hi Benedict, Some mismatch in your PAN and Aadhaar might be the reason for this error.

There are two ways to fix this.

      1. I would advise you to first link your Aadhaar with PAN in income tax website. This way you can easily everify your returns using Aadhaar OTP.

      2. You need to change/correct your details in Aadhaar to match with PAN to everify using netbanking

      1. rashmi says
