7 Tips to Help You Make Money Online
Are you sick of online profits seemingly vanishing into thin air?
As the saying goes, I’ve been broke and I’ve been rich, and rich is better.
Now when I say “rich” I am not talking about money alone. Money is one form of wealth in an infinite universe. I am talking about making money, having fun and creating a freeing lifestyle.
I’ve circled the globe as a full time blogger over the past 6 years. I also know what it feels like to struggle financially, before I became an island hopping pro blogger.
Today I want to help you make money online so you can move from the pain of struggling to earn a dime to the pleasure of generating a substantial online income, and the joy of creating a free, fun, fantastic lifestyle.
7 Tips to Help You Make Money Online
Follow your fun, not your finances.
Pursue your passions, not profits.
Following your fun ensures that you give most of your energies to helping people. This energetic space is where you want to be to make that big blogging moolah.
The fun/work feels like the reward. Traffic and money and comments and subscribers feel like extra. When you feel money is like a bonus – not THE ONLY REASON you’re blogging – money flows in with greater and greater ease because you’ll be so busy having fun and helping people.
The money is in the relationships you build with your email list.
People check their email daily. Most human beings at least. If you build a list your posts will get read and your readers will gradually prosper you through your clear cut calls to action.
Not building a list was my biggest blogging mistake. I’d probably have a list 50 times the size of the one I have now if I built a list from Day 1 as a blogger, 8 years ago.
I did build a list for a network marketing opportunity in the thousands but I had to delete those subscribers because I am covering an entirely different niche now.
If you’re frustrated that readers seem to find your blog by accident, build an email list. Boost your online income by getting in your reader’s inbox.
Buy your domain and hosting to:
- Convey a professional image
- Gain the trust of your readers
- Build a powerhouse blogging brand
- Boost your profits
- Increase your traffic
How it works: if you buy your domain and hosting people will tend to trust you and your advice more quickly. This leads to greater online profits because if people trust you and your advice they will buy what you have to offer without hesitating.
On the flip side of things, people using free blogging platforms lose their audience’s trust. It’s tough to make money online because it’s tough to earn someone’s trust when your domain name looks all jacked up, as it does when using free blogging platforms like Blogger.
If you can’t afford to buy a domain and hosting you will not be able to make money online. Get a part time job, or pull out your credit card or spend a few hundred dollars from your savings. Think about near and long term profits before you shy away from making an investment.
Guest posting is one of the ultimate forms of online leveraging.
You may have 500 blog readers but if you guest post on Pro Blogger you expose yourself to 300,000 plus readers. This means more traffic for you and more folks to help through your eBooks, products and services.
Write 1,000 words daily in a Word document for practice. Be diligent with this writing habit because you will become a confident blogger and land more guest posts by honing your writing skills.
By making friends with top bloggers (tip #6) you will get invited to guest post on top blogs more often than not.
Guest post on blogs from the same niche as your blog. Leverage your presence in front of an interested audience.
Blog commenting helps you make money online because folks who dig your feedback will click through and join your email list. These subscribers will eventually buy your products and hire you for your services.
The Key Point: You need to make a huge impact through blog commenting to tap into the money-making benefits of sharing your thoughts. This involves writing a 5 to 10 paragraph masterpiece that wows the socks off of your fellow blog readers.
Think more guest post than blog comment. Show off your knowledge. Set a timer for 15 minutes and go wild. Personalize comments. Thank your fellow blogger for sharing their wisdom. Sign off with your name.
Persistently comment on top blogs from your niche. For example; if you are in the “make money online” niche you’d comment on John Chow’s blog. Doing so helps you make an impact, expands your brand awareness, drives traffic to your blog and helps you profit too.
This is where most bloggers screw up; they focus only on promoting themselves.
Top online earners enter into prospering partnerships, promoting other bloggers to build their friend networks and to boost their cash flow.
Imagine if 50, 100 or 1000 people retweeted your next blog post? Imagine if 50 people endorsed your next eBook or product? These people will do these things for you if you befriend them.
The easiest way to befriend fellow bloggers is to promote them through social media and to comment on their blogs. So….do it!
Learn and add one income streams every 3-6 months to make money blogging.
Do not plaster Adsense on your blog and expect to earn real money with pennies or maybe dollars per click. Earn a hefty income by creating online courses, by freelancing, by coaching and by writing and self-publishing eBooks.
Learn and earn. Master a stream inside-out before you move on to the next stream. Mastering in the sense that you will earn a nice income through said stream over that 3-6 month stretch.
What tips can you add to this list?
